iCIS - pos-doc position 
The Project , iCIS Intelligent Computing in the Internet of Services 
(http://icis.uc.pt/[1])
led by Prof. Dr. Paulo de Carvalho, located at the Department of 
Informatics Engineering at the University of
Coimbra, Portugal, invites applications for one full-time pos-doc position.
The scholarship will be for 12 months (1495 euro per month, net) and may 
be extended until the end of ICIS (June 2015).

Work plan:
The aim is to develop methodologies and algorithms to improve 
performance, resilience and functionality of future networks and the 
Future Internet. The improvement of the QoR (Quality of Resiliency) of 
the netwoork infrastructure is one way to achieve this goal.
The study of approaches that can contribute to this goal, for example 
the determination of a spine with high availability - which may or may 
not be a spanning tree, will be pursued.
This spine will be used for serving active paths with high reliability 
requirements. Masking the network topology may also be considered, for 
restricting the visibility of the network resources per service classes, 
or for defining virtual networks. Also, for supporting cloud computing, 
architectures incorporating the spine concept have been proposed.
